I’ll make my own sunshine

06 Nov

Just a quick “checking in” post today – going knitting after work and NaNo will take up the rest of my evening. It’s coming along well, over 10K words so far.

The sky is gray, spitting rain and brisk winds are forecast for tomorrow, so I need to spend some time battening down the hatches. Enjoy a little Sunshine from Chelsea Basham –

Ah, NaNo. I made an account on the website a long time ago. This year was finally going to be the year I actually participated. …and then my 6-month old kick ass computer broke down (pretty sure it’s a factory defect. poor thing). My tiny netbook doesn’t run multiple programs well, so NaNo will have to wait until next year.

Bummer! Of course, you could always write it out long hand 🙂

I’m too picky for that. Also, my spelling is awful. I suppose I’m making excuses, but I was nervous enough to start. I wonder if I can really write that much in such a short time. Losing my computer, and ability to have 10+ web windows, and 5 other applications all running at the same time killed my motivation. Next year. I promise.

You could always start late, or do it next month on your own. No need to drop it for a year just because of technical difficulties…

I’m always writing anyways. I have a couple book ideas I’ve been working on for a while. I was going to use NaNo to expand on one of them. So, 50,000 words in December is a definite possibility. I always have to be writing. Hopefully the holidays don’t get in the way too much.

You wouldn’t believe that brand new computer. I threw a lot of money at it to get a quality product and then one day I turn it on and it says ‘no bootable device.’ It may as well have been the blue screen of death.

Computer problems suck! I hope you’re up and running soon!
